"I give up freely what is no longer serving me, I release it to create space for what inspires me."
We all have a burden to bear. We all, at some point, feel the weight of the world on our shoulders. It hunches our backs, and drops our gaze. It makes our hearts heavy, and drags our feet.
Yoga empowers us to release ourselves from those things that do not serve us. Even when you are at your lowest, your mat provides a place of solitude and comfort. When we unroll our mats, and step into the moment, allow ourselves to be in the now, we begin to unwrap ourselves from the binds of stress that hold us down. Yoga is about self-love and compassion, patience, and humility. Its accepting the fact that we are all human, we all make mistakes, and it is not our mistakes that define us, but how we rise up from them.
When you step onto your mat, when you open your eyes in the morning, whenever the weight of your anxiety begins to make it hard to breathe, remember that you have control over this moment. Accept that there are somethings you can not change, but there is so much you can learn from each obstacle and every struggle. You're breath and your presence empower you to overcome the greatest challenge, because YOU are capable of so much.
