“I give myself room for expression.”
Its memorial day, which I highly suggest you giving yourself the time to spend remembering those that are no longer with us, reflect on their influence on you in your life and allow yourself to express how you feel in any way that feels right for you to give such thanks. Always allow yourself to take time for yourself also if you have lost someone close to you that has served. Self-care is equally as important for days like this one.
Off your mat, I invite you to get creative, do something to express your gratitude for those that have served. Light a candle, write a poem, dedicate your yoga practice, do whatever you need to get some creativity flowing and begin to be humble to those no longer with us. Instead if giving you a set idea, I want to let this week come from within you.
On your mat, there may be some energy that is stagnant and not flowing due to this being a mourning associated time. Do some hip openers, preferably yin style hip openers to really get deep into those creases to let go of anything not serving you. Allowing the self care needed to get through the week after this day.
-Namaste, Michi P.
